2008 NZ Open Source Awards
Nominations for the 2008 NZ Open Source Awards have opened!
Last year's event, put together by our friends at Catalyst IT in Wellington was a humbdinger, with a number of very cool open source projects, companies, and individuals getting well deserved recognition. The awards were also very successful in raising awareness among businesses, organisations, and the government and education sectors about the vibrancy and potential of open source software in NZ. It was a great success for all involved.
So far this year sponsors include Google, Catalyst IT, the New Zealand Open Source Society, InternetNZ, and Open Systems Specialists.
We hope that if you have encountered open source brilliance in NZ this year, you tell the organisers about it - nominations are easy to make, and we'd love to see some of the good work out there getting noticed!
