In the first week of May, Egressive helped the people responsible for NZSkier magazine launch their associated NZSkier TV website, a place for skiers interested in the kiwi ski scene to view videos, trick tips, photos, feature articles, gear guides, top skier bios, and trip reports. The idea is for the website to be like the magazine, only with more movement and space for stuff that doesn't make it into the magazine, which has two issues yearly, one in May and the other in August.

With the NZSkier.com site, Egressive developers flexed their Drupal muscle to blip.tv integration for videos, e-commerce for online magazine sales, up-to-the-minute snow reports, user generated content like stories and comments, user video ratings.

Behind the scenes, the Drupal site offers other useful capabilities, integrating sponsor advertising - managed by Egressive's own OpenX Advertising server, user newsletters (opt-in, of course!), ski event management, pictoral gear guide management, image gallery management with image watermarking, and, of course, a full content management interface.

We're very excited to see what the Hamish Acland, Neil Kerr, Jase and the rest of the crew get up to over the winter, and what new challenges they offer us to further soup up their website.
