Celebrated Alumni

• Marisa Spear - for several years she has kept us (and our few "less than punctual" customers) in line, making sure that nothing falls between the cracks of our billing and payment systems. Marisa is already a dedicated mum to two little girls and is preparing to introduce another bundle of joy to the world - all the best in that endeavour, Marisa!
• Matthew Whiting - former PHP Developer/Drupal Specialist - Matthew's decided that his real passion lies in conservation and the environment, and he's gone back to university to pursue a course that should allow him to make a career in that area. We wish him all the best with that. We're still in touch, and we have reason to believe that he finally got his "winmodem" running under Linux!
• Jim Cheetham - our former Customer Services Manager/System Architect/Byte Wrangler has now left us for a high-end system administration position in Wellington with a multi-national IT firm (who, incidentally, are trying to hop onto the open source bandwagon at the moment). We keep in contact, and Jim still does a few odds and ends with us - he may also have other things on the go. He's also still active in the Canterbury Linux Users' Group. It was fun having him here, and sad to see him go, but it's great to know that he and his young family are doing well up north!
• Marek Kuziel and Chris Noel - former Chief Web Application Developer/Software Architect and Software Developer/Legal Advisor now trading as the Effusion Group's newest member: Encode Ltd. Marek is a master of PHP software architecture, having developed, among other things the PLUM engine - called Hurldinger - which powered our previous site. Chris spent a lot of time working on our TPRS system as well as authoring a number of our legal documents. The fellas at Encode still work with us regularly, often assisting us on specialised development tasks and legal documentation for which they are best suited.
• Becky James - former and occasionally still pinch-hitting Accounts Manager/Swing Dancin' Idol - she kept us organised and on the right side of our suppliers, clients, and the IRD.
• Chris "Buddha" Schneider - the "cleaner", expert PHP developer and debugger second to none. Has provided invaluable assistance in earlier framework development projects and porting to newer Linux and PHP versions. Currently based in Zuerich, Switzerland - the company he works with is responsible for search.ch, Switzerland's premier search engine - along with other cutting-edge projects.
• Damien Bateman - former chief developer, architect of the original Egressive UMS (User Management System), our novel PHP/RDBMS/XML/XSLT web application framework upon which industrial strength web applications such as OpenStrategies are built. His new company, Lakros, develops foreign exchange trading systems and tracking/bill of lading software for the shipping industry.
• Joerg Baach - itinerant developer, helped us with some significant chunks of difficult OpenStrategies development. Last I heard, he's in Dublin, where he's now a devotee of the Tango... We expect his Tango interest hasn't come at the expense of his tap dancing - he's a bit of a dancing machine!
• Palmer Moore - gifted web designer and naval architect. Our previous Egressive site was his original design, as are quite a few others in our pre-Drupal web portfolio sites - many thanks Palmer! He's currently back in Boston, MA, USA, playing Ultimate, doing some web design and designing boats again.
