About this site

With the exception of the occasional visitory-provided comment, the content on this site - page copy, articles, downloadable software, graphics, images, etc. - was produced by Egressive people unless otherwise noted (for example, some of the best pictures on the site are credited to Andreas Schwab, Dave's friend from Munich, Germany). The copyright of any content not produced by Egressive people is retained by its author - as such, we do not take responsibility for it.

Unless otherwise noted, the content on this site is available for reuse under the terms of the NZ Creative Commons Non-commercial Attribution Share-Alike license. We encourage you to look into the rights we offer you in conjunction with this very exciting new legal construct.

Most of the images (almost all taken in New Zealand, and most in Canterbury, our home) that randomly pop up on most pages are available in higher resolution suitable for printing. Just ask us - we're normally pretty reasonable.

If you would like to use content on this site for commercial purposes, we are open to enquiries - just let us know what URL points to the relevant content, who you represent, and what you're planning to use the content for.

This site is open standards compliant XHTML 1.0 markup, Javascript client-side scripting, and CSS 2.0 styling laid out and spruced up by Egressive's own theme templates.

Underlying its breezy exterior is a mountain of functionality provided by the unparalleled Drupal web development framework/CMS, which in turn is made up of heaps of PHP5 code, interpreted by a module of the Apache2 web server, extracting data along the way from the MySQL database engine, all of which was assembled and conveniently packaged for our use by the Ubuntu Linux distribution team/community. Every bit of it is free, open source software.

The whole confabulation resides, whirring gently, in our nearby secure hosting facility run by the good people at Unleash.

This site officially went live on 10 September 2007, on the eve of the 9th anniversary of our founding.
